Harz - a region between decay and rebirth. Once densely overgrown with spruce monocultures, it is now a testament to the resilience of nature, where vast, barren landscapes show the scars of bark ("Borken") beetle infestation and ecological mismanagement. Amidst bleak, dystopian vistas of skeletal trees and misty, empty landscapes, glimmers of life emerge as the forest begins to transform into a native mixed forest.
