Fährte (2023-2024):
A reportage about my mother in her hunting grounds in Siegen, Germany. This project delves into the tension between tradition and modernity, weaving together the layered history of our family with my own ambivalent relationship to hunting. In the solitude of the forest, as I accompany my mother, I am confronted not only with the rituals, necessity, and contradictions of the practice but also with the traces ("Fährte") of the past and the ever-evolving bond between us. Rather than idealizing or trivializing the taking of animal life, this project seeks to engage with it in a reflective and personal way.
